In today’s ‘race to the top culture’, which is more a race to the bottom in reality, which is evidenced in the aggressive competition in all things, big or small, trivial or important, many people live every day in a state of desire or despair. Everything in our life is validated by the illusion of a win.
The desire to 'win' is the principal objective that keeps all of mankind in captivity. It is out of the desire to win that ego of mankind is born. Our inability to control our competitive nature signifies the fact that our egos are always in control. The consequences of our desire to win is manifested in our hearts. Our heart's mind tells us the truth about what we truly believe. Competition is the chief bondservant of the ego. I am a part of this competition culture where we are conditioned to argue, fight, compete, disagree and do ‘whatever it takes to win’. These pursuits are what keep us in a constant state of survival. The survival mindset leaves us with non-empowering emotions, among which are stress, anxiety, worry, despair, shame, worthlessness, confusion etc. (From my up-coming book: Myths and Mysteries Vol 1)
It is no wonder that many people are beginning to question the 'normal' way of doing things and societies around the world seem to have no answers.
