Why Are So Many People Unhappy?

When do people feel let down by the system? I can think of a few examples. If someone went to our schools in the traditional arrangement and they worked extremely hard to meet the standards that have been set for them with the hope that it was going to lead them on to the ‘good life’ – in whatever way it means to each person – after their education. Then this person gets the certificate that was promised but only to realise that not everything that they have been made to believe was true. That their qualifications meant nothing at all, and what they hoped to be doing after graduation was just a figment of their imagination, and that some of the things that they laboured to learn are completely irrelevant in the real world. Or simply put, if these people cannot find what they consider a suitable job, then the feeling of disappointment, disillusionment, despondency, blame among others becomes very rife and hence the exploitation by extremist groups.
